Enerscapes, one of the projects of the MED program, whose partners come from the countries of the mediterranean area, work together to establish a new transnational methodology to evaluate and manage the facilities for the production of renewable energy, their impacts on the landscape and in the assets territorial.
The increasing use of renewable sources for energy generation brings with it a new awareness of its compatibility with landscape and heritage preservation policies. Enerscapes try to avoid Negative effects that unregulated diffusion of renewables can cause in Mediterranean territories and landscapes. Although he development of renewables is positive At the national and European level, at the local level there are challenges related to changes in territorial assets, especially landscapes with a strong ecological, cultural and identity dimension.
Enerscapes works on the integration of policies, programs and planning activities to both promote renewable as for avoid negative externalities at the local level. When connecting the energy planning and the territorial planning, strategies are identified that consider ecological, landscape and heritage aspects in the policies of promotion of renewable energies, that are specified in plans dand Local Action depending on the local and national legal framework of each of the partners. Finally, based on a common base of best practices and regulatory solutions, partners of Enerscapes define a evaluation method and common rules to protect the environment and the landscape in the introduction of renewable energy in it Mediterranean area.
Territoria has been the consultant in charge of accompanying the Government of Andalusia in this international cooperation project, throughout the entire work process, writing reports, participating in meetings and generating the expected results for the project.
